There are also options for touring and viewing local wildlife in their natural habitat. Boat trips up Philips Arm adjacent to Shoal Bay have a very high percentage of encountering one of the largest predators on earth, the Grizzly Bear. The area is also home to Killer Whales, Dahls Porpoise and Pacific White Sided Dolphins. Local and migrating birds include Bald Eagles. Herons, Harriers, Hawks, and countless migratory swallows and sea birds. These excursions can often be combined in one outing that includes both guided salmon fishing and wildlife viewing.
