The moorage fee at Shoal Bay docks is $1.50 per foot including GST. There are no reservations and dock space is on a first come basis. When docking at Shoal Bay please place your boat so it leaves as much room as possible for future boats. Give a helping hand to your fellow boaters, make friends. Rafting to other boats is mandatory when necessary. There is a pay box on the dock where you can pay your moorage by cash, cheque or etransfer. wi-fi is provided by The Cottages at Shoal Bay. Moored boaters may access the grounds and are invited to join in the fun and have a look at what it takes to live off the grid. In order to reduce environmental impact on the land, there is no land access for anchored boaters. Beach access only
The Cottages at Shoal Bay offer free moorage on the private "guest dock" for boats up to 28 feet. larger boats can be accomodated but the $1.50 per foot fee will apply to any length beyond the 30 foot maximum. The guest dock is well marked and attached directly to the government dock.
Unlike the government dock all of the land adjacent is private property. Mark and Cynthia have invested much time and resources in revitalizing the creek and local forest. Boaters mooring on the government dock are welcome to access and enjoy the property walk the grounds, trails and garden. Dogs must be on leash when in the vicinity of the cottages but there is an off-leash "Dog Park" area designated for off leash exercise. Please be respectful of cottage renters privacy and tranquility. There are several walking trails that boaters are welcome to use as well as laundry and shower facilities. Boaters should be aware that access is done entirely at your own risk. Beach access only for anchored boaters.
