A small horseshoe shaped bay with an incredible view of the mainland mountains, Shoal Bay was once the largest town on the West Coast. Gold left, cars came, and the once thriving town withered away all the way down to just us two. Entirely off-grid, and off road, we invite you to experience what kind of life two people alone, with limited recourses and a great imagination can build for themselves in the wilderness. All three rental cottages were built by our very own hands with the amazing help from valued friends. Come stay in one. Feel the love. 

Wonderful and peaceful, serene and exciting, this world has no cars or even roads to drive them on. We are so very gifted to live where we can benefit directly for all of our efforts knowing that they will always be small when seen beside the natural strength and beauty of the place. This place.

We spent lots of those days building three beautiful cottages for you. Solo quiet retreats to provide the perfect place for our guests to reset, or reunite with family and friends. 

Do come for a visit, use electricity generated by our micro-hydro system, drink our clear pure well water and take deep deep breaths of real air.
