The Cottages at Shoal Bay
The Cottages at Shoal Bay
We have a garden that sustains us throughout the summer months. This helps us cut down on the high cost of getting fresh produce out to a remote island. Every year we learn more about gardening, thanks to all the wisdom and help from many passionate gardeners stopping by.
We are happy to share our garden with cottage guests and dock patrons. A garden market source of organic vegetables and herbs. Bouquets available by request.
Gardening conditions have been changing with climate change and we are interested in learning more about permaculture.
The garlic beds at Shoal Bay have become famous in the islands. Garlic thrives here and the beds are a garden focal point. Garlic is available for purchase after harvest time.
The herb garden is the center piece of the entire garden area. Filled with culinary, medicinal, and aromatic herbs, it is as spiritual as it is practical.
We grow and lovingly place fresh cut flowers in our rental cottages. We also sell bouquets to patron boaters.
Everyone enjoys time spent in the garden because it is truly quality time. grab a cool drink, a seat in the garden, and watch the bees go to work.
Loads of different lettuce and beds of greens . Guests as well as boaters are welcome to enjoy the gardens. We encourage our visitors to get their hands dirty and help out with weeding, planting, or of course harvesting!
The bean trellis has been a great success! We hope to add another new trellis this spring for snap peas and sweet peas. The design as well as the produce is constantly changing,... evolving!
