Shoal Bay is a 5 minute boat ride from the most productive trophy chinook salmon fishing on the central coast of British Columbia. Hall Point and Denham bay routinely draw professional guides from as far away as Campbell River. Guests at Shoal bay have returned with catches as large as 40 lbs and routinely catch Chinnok in the mid twenties.
Pacific Spot Prawn
Guests at Shoal Bay often bring both Prawn and Crab traps to drop right in front of their cottage so to enjoy the joy of sea to table during their stay. Pacific Spot Prawns are a specialty of the waters directly around Shoal Bay and up Philips Arm.
Dungeness Crab
Drop your crab trap (or use one of ours) right in front of your cottage and have fresh Dungeness crab for dinner! At Shoal Bay, snagging a large Chinook, jigging up a delicious Ling Cod, catching a pail full of Spot Prawns, and pulling up several big Dungeness keepers on the same day is not dreaming but a reality.
